JLS said that the new series of The X Factor judge was right to change the panel.

The band second place was the talent show in 2008 when he was mentored by Louis Walsh.

JLS told This Morning: "We always thought Gary Barlow would be a good judge."

Aston Merrygold said: "I think it's time for the show to evolve and I'm sure Mr Simon Cowell will poke his head in once or twice in the show!

"He does so much for the show, and Cheryl and Dannii did so much, and Louis is still there."

Asked if they would like to mentor the acts during the series, Marvin Humes said: "We'd love to. We are big fans of the show so that would be amazing!"
